birthday parties, etc.

Use of various rooms and the Sanctuary of Unity East of Clinton Township are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Availability
varies but generally, rooms are available any day of the week,
including Sundays after 1 p.m.
The rooms available include the Sanctuary and Fellowship Hall as well as the rear area of the church grounds between the church building
and the parking lot.
The Sanctuary can seat up to 125 people. Seating can be increased by opening the wall between the Sanctuary and Fellowship Hall, adding up to 50 additional seats.

Rooms are available for events such as weddings, receptions, anniversaries, memorial services, meetings, conferences, seminars and social gatherings.
Events must be scheduled and a deposit paid to secure your date and use of premises as specified in the rental agreement. It is suggested that desired dates be presented at least three (3) months prior to the actual date of the event. It is recommended that more than one date be considered.
There is a cleaning deposit required. This will be refunded once the rented area is cleaned and returned to its original condition.
Requests for memorial services should be made at least two (2) weeks prior to the service date. However, if the rental schedule permits, a shorter period of time for such a request may be honored.
Church members have precedence of the selection of event dates, unless a date has already been secured by a rental agreement and deposit paid.
Additionally, registered members of the church receive $50 off the
prices below for rentals costing $100 or more.

Rental Terms
- Church facilities are available for rent only when they are not needed for scheduled church activities.
- The facilities are available for use between the hours of 8 am to 11 pm.
- The building must be vacated by 11 pm.
- Rental of church facilities by non-members or congregants requires approval from the Board of Trustees.
- The Board reserves the right to refuse acceptance of this rental agreement.
- The Board of Trustees may request an additional security deposit of $250.00 when it deems this appropriate.
- Rental use of the church facilities in no way implies endorsement by the church of the renting group or organization, or of the activities conducted by these same rental groups.
- Rental keys may be picked up from the church office, the day of the rental date or if it is a Saturday or Sunday rental, the Friday prior to the weekend of the rental.
- Keys must be returned to the church office the following day. All activities and events in church facilities must be in compliance with municipal, provincial and federal law.
- Fire Regulations: All persons using church facilities must familiarize themselves with the church evacuation plans posted in the hall and exits.
- All exits and driveways must be kept free from obstruction in case of fire.
- Chairs and tables owned by the church will be made available as required.
- Renter is liable for any damages and should not move the furniture without prior consent (i.e. Pulpit/Piano).
- It remains the renter’s responsibility to set up and remove whatever chairs and tables that are required.
- The consumption of alcoholic beverages and smoking are prohibited on church property. The ONLY exception is that a maximum of two glasses of wine per person may be served during a wedding reception, anniversary celebration or any similar event. The renting party must notify church officials if they wish to serve wine.
- Absolutely NO Food or Drink will be allowed in the sanctuary.
- The renting party must have an adult supervisor who has accepted the responsibility of overseeing the event. This adult must be at least 21 years of age and be named on the rental form. He/she must be present during the event at all times.
- The renting party and specifically the adult supervisor shall be financially and otherwise responsible for all damage to the property of the church or the loss of any of the contents therein during the time the rental was in effect.
- The rental party is responsible for the proper restoration of the facilities to pre-occupancy condition.
- Any and all garbage should be properly bagged.
- Spills and muck-ups on the floors should be cleaned and vacuumed. Appropriate clean-up equipment and materials shall be made available.
- Lights must be turned off, heat turned down, and all doors and windows locked prior to leaving the building.
- In the case of improper clean up, additional fees may be charged at the discretion of the Property and Maintenance Committee.
- The rental party shall save and hold harmless Unity East of Clinton Township from any liabilities and/or responsibilities arising during the occupancy of the building and its related areas.
- Unity East reserves the right, through its representatives, to close any function for failure to observe proper conduct or for failure to comply with any of the above provisions.
- The Sanctuary rental does not include use of the sound and video systems. If you need to use those items, an additional fee will be required as one of our technicians will be required to run these systems for you.
- The renter(s) are responsible for leaving the facilities in the same condition as prior to occupancy. In the case of improper clean up, additional fees may be charged at the discretion of the Board of Trustees.
- There will be certain services that you may require when using the church facilities that may be available at an additional cost. It is the renter’s responsibility to contact and pay for these extra services.
